Am fost nevoita sa aflu si eu aceasta diferenta, deoarece la monitor folosesc DVI si-mi doream HDMI pentru performanta Ultra HD care mi-o ofera si culorile impecabile. Am ramas putin dezamagita, deoarece cablul HDMI nu ofera refresh rate de 144hz doar 60hz maxim.
Mi-am luat monitor de 1ms si 144hz tocmai in acest sens, deci cablul HDMI este absolut inutil pentru mine. Eventual l-as putea folosi doar cand vizionez un film sau sa nu mai dau drumu la unitate, ci doar de pe laptop sa umblu la ce am nevoie.

Initial credeam ca este diferenta doar de transmisia audio si aici ma refer la cablul HDMI care transmite audio catre monitor, iar DVI nu.

I researched around with these two digital display ports but I see mixed answers. My question is for a 144hz monitor @ 1080p, is there a difference between the two. I sometimes see answers that say that hdmi cannot handle 144hz but can 60hz. Is that true? I know that hdmi carries not only video signals but also audio but my main focus of this question is, can hdmi handle 144hz @1080p?

I’m guessing you are using the BenQ or ASUS, but HDMI will not be able to carry 144Hz, the best alternative is to use Displayport as it can carry 144Hz and still carry audio. The DVI option on the monitors will carry 144Hz as well but not carry audio, if you do not even use the audio on the monitor then this won’t matter to you. (DVI=144Hz, no audio)(Displayport=144Hz with audio) (HDMI=60Hz with audio) your pick. :)

Asadar, pentru pasionatii de jocuri video, cea mai buna alegere este cablul DVI.
